so I was going to write a blog about how horrible He's Just Not That Into You was (although it's been about three weeks since i seen it). BUT this blog beat me to it AND did a much more entertaining/better job at capturing yet another instance of how Hollywood is going to shit.

shove it old lady
Be Kind
charles bukowskiwe are always asked
to understand the other person's
viewpoint
no matter how
out-dated
foolish or
obnoxious.
one is asked
to view
their total error
their life-waste
with
kindliness,
especially if they are
aged.
but age is the total of
our doing.
they have aged
badly
because they have
lived
out of focus,
they have refused to
see.
not their fault?
whose fault?
mine?
I am asked to hide
my viewpoint
from them
for fear of their
fear.
age is no crime
but the shame
of a deliberately
wasted
life
among so many
deliberately
wasted
lives
is.
sunday loafing
yesterday I met a friend at a local coffee shop. after coffee we took a walk around town and through the nearby park/garden. while I've been through this park numerous times, it seems that each time I enter it I'm completely mystified by it. it's quite small compared to others in the area, but it's the park's simplicity that makes it so special and beautiful. of course it did help that yesterday's weather was exceptionally nice after the cold front/rain we've been experiencing. anyways while walking along one of the paths my friend pointed out this stick or post or whatever it is:
there are four sides with this quote (?) declaration (?) hope/wish (?) and one is English with the others reading in German, Spanish and French. I took a picture of all sides with my camera on my phone, but it wasn't until last night that I realized I had captured an awesome angle with the English/French showing together. my day was beautiful, but even more so because things like this exist and make me realize that there are some places where peace and peacefulness is possible, alive and present. maybe that's another reason why I'm so taken by this park.

I know it's been a while, but...
it's official. I've been accepted. I will begin pursuing my second degree in International Studies with a focus on Africa in the fall. the school that accepted me doesn't matter, as it never really has/does in my opinion. ok, so yea I may be a bit impressed if you told me you just graduated from Oxford or Harvard, but otherwise I'm not really swayed by fancy names of prestigious schools because after all someone did remind me the other day that "it's all a business these days." it also seems that some of the most intelligent and intellectual people I know, didn't make it through or even to college in some cases. so long as I've some professors (I expect a few drab ones) who can deliver the subject matter in a manner that keeps me interested (and awake) in class, and makes me eager to know and seek out more even after I've left the class; I'll feel my time and monies have been well spent. besides after I've completed my 30 something hours, I will be traveling to a country in Africa, (where I've been curious about and wanted to visit ever since I can remember) to work before receiving my official degree. now that's what's up!
not sure how much posting will follow, but thought I'd share my awesome news.
